STATE FINALS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The following is a link to the Webinar conducted on Thursday, January 18, 2018 concerning registering for State Finals. This recording covers how to register your team for State Finals as well as things you will need to remember for the competition. The recording is about 35 minutes in length.

Registration opened on January 18, 2018 and will close on March 1, 2018.  Registration this year is $55.00 per team. Checks can be mailed to Iowa Odyssey of the Mind, 7707 Dellwood Drive, Urbandale, IA  50322 or may be brought with you to the tournament on April 7.

Remember, each team MUST provide a scoring judge and if possible a volunteer.  The judge should be prepared to be available from 8:00AM until 5:00PM on April 7. While it may workout that they will be able to see your team perform they should not plan on it since they may be judging another problem when your team is performing.

If you are able to provide a volunteer to assist with things like sales, door keeper, running scores, set-up and clean-up, they will be used for approximately 2-3 hours the day of the tournament and should be able to see your team perform.

What will be expected of our judges?  The judge you provided will be expected to be part of a three part training process. 1) Each judge will be required to attend one of three identical Webinars.  This 45 minute webinar will be on three different evenings so it will be easier for each person attend one of the webinars.  Following the webinars the officals will be asked to fill out an online questionaire where they will provide information about what they would like to do during the tournament. 2) We will then send the judge an email containing specific materials about their judging position.  We ask them to read this material before coming to the April 7 tournament. 3) Finally we will ask all judges to come to the tournament 60 to 90 minutes before the first team competes to work with the head judge on details about their specific problem.

NOTE:  If a judge representing a team is returning to the tournament after judging last year, they will be able to skip the first part of the training described above.
