What does it costs?...
At Iowa Odyssey of the Mind, the State Board of Directors works hard at keeping costs as low as possible. Because we have no paid employees and lots of dedicated volunteers, we are able to direct 100% of our funds towards a quality program for Iowa's youth.
Here are the costs you can expect for your Odyssey of the Mind teams this year.
International Membership $135.00 This allows you to have one team in each problem in each division represented in your school. I many small districts the one membership will allow you to have up to 15 competitive teams plus as many primary teams as you want. If you have a question about your membership needs email questions@iowaodysseyofthemind.com If you have multiple teams wishing to do the same problem in the same division in your school you will need a second membership. Additional memberships are $100.00 each. Each additional membership allows the same number of teams as the initial membership. $50.00 of each membership comes back to our state to provide direct support to our students.
State Finals Registration $40.00 This registration fee is paid when teams register for the State Finals during January and February. This fee helps defer the costs of State Finals including awards, official's expenses and supplies.
Problem solving materials and miscellaneous team costs. Costs vary by solution that each team comes up with and how much food is needed to fuel these young creative thinking machines. There is a cost limit that must be adhered to for the final solution as presented at the State Tournament. This costs varies by problem. Odyssey of the Mind encourages creative use of materials in solving problems and not neccessarily spending lots of money to come up with your solution.
